Customers of Owensboro Municipal Utilities receive a statement every 28-32 days listing their charges for the previous month. This bill includes OMU electric and water service, but is much more than an OMU bill. As a convenience for our customers your bill includes three other charges; Regional Water Resource Agency, City of Owensboro Sanitation, and Board of Education tax.
OMU collects these three charges and passes them to the appropriate agency. If these organizations were forced to add their own billing and collection departments, it would only duplicate OMU's efforts and increase everyone's costs.
